A Family Is Astounded To Discover A Koala In Their Christmas Tree

Amanda McCormick and her family in Australia had an early Christmas last year. The most surprising “gift” wasn’t beneath the tree, though.

It was someone who was inside.

The McCormicks returned home from a trip out earlier in the week to find an unexpected addition to their holiday ornaments. It turns out that their yuletide centerpiece had been invaded by a hairy, wild neighbor who had let herself in via the front door.

McCormick wrote, “Well, that’s not something you see every day.” “We just got home to see an actual koala on our Christmas tree in our living room!”

The koala apparently entered through a rear door that the family had left open for their dog. She seems to have rapidly adjusted to her new surroundings.

The koala was perhaps McCormick’s favorite gift, but she realized she wouldn’t be able to keep it.

McCormick summoned rescuers from 1300Koalaz to carefully evacuate the unexpected visitor after capturing a few images. They, too, were taken aback by the whole incident.

“Our hotline operator received a call this evening. She first mistook herself for a victim of a hoax call “rescuers penned “But no, a koala had walked into Amanda McCormick’s house, wanting to get into the Christmas spirit, and decided it wanted to be the fairy on the Christmas tree.”

Rescuers were able to gently remove the koala from the McCormicks’ tree and transport her to a safe location. Overall, it was a memorable event for the family.

“This is the most fun I’ve ever had on a Wednesday night!” McCormick penned the piece. “Merry Christmas to everybody, and thanks for stopping by, little Koala buddy!”
