Unusual friendships are nothing new in the animal world, but this one takes things to a whole new level of strangeness. The BLT trio (no, not the famous sandwich) is here!

The abbreviation BLT stands for bear, lion, and tiger, and it’s used to depict the most unlikely partnership the animal kingdom has ever seen. For over 15 years, the amazing friendship these three wild creatures enjoy has warmed hearts!

They’re all housed at Noah’s Ark, a charmingly named animal sanctuary outside Atlanta, Georgia. They are well-cared after and have access to a great and free environment. It wasn’t always like this, though. Baloo the bear, Shere Khan the tiger, and Leo the lion all had a tragic past as stowaways. While they were still cubs, they were saved and taken onboard Noah’s Ark.

Since they came, they’ve surprised everyone with their nice disposition, and they’ve shown signs of bonding very immediately.

“From the minute we met them when they came to Noah’s Ark,” Allison Hedgecoth, curator at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, told the Huffington Post, “the BLT demonstrated signs of being a linked three.” “They were already looking for comfort in one another and showing affection by cuddling, grooming, and playing with one another.”

Though it is typical for young animals to form interspecies friendships, in this case, the three’s bond only became stronger as they grew older. And, no matter how absurd it may appear, they share a fraternal relationship that defies all obstacles.

Isn’t it true that nature sometimes begs to be made into a Disney film? To learn more about their great connection and to see how beautifully they communicate with one another, check out the lovely video below!

Despite all obstacles, these three unlikely friends remained connected for more than 15 years, until fate took Leo away. Unfortunately, Khan died a few years later, but their wonderful story will live on in the hearts of all animal lovers!
