After “a giant mountain lion” broke into their property, a brave dog risked his life to protect his family. Rocky, the brave dog, was as fierce as a rock and did not retreat when confronted face to face with the terrifying feral cat. Unfortunately the dog has paid the price, as it was severely damaged in the clash with the wild animal. Rocky was finally rescued by the family he had sought to protect and he lived to tell the story.
Mary Padres of La Verne, California, went out to check after hearing the family’s two dogs screaming furiously. However, the woman was taken aback when she discovered a mountain lion in her garden. The wild cat ignored the two dogs until Rocky, the smaller of the two, began chasing it off the property.
“I yelled ‘Mountain lion!’ as soon as I spotted it,” the lady recounted in an interview with ABC7. The beast was staring me down. It was enormous.”
Rocky proceeded to chase the mountain lion up the slope close to their house, demonstrating that you don’t have to be a hero just because you’re huge. The feline lost its way through the bushes because to Rocky’s remarkable bravery, but the dog received some very nasty wounds as a result.
The brave dog was transported to the clinic and is now safe, although he required over 300 stitches to repair his wounds. The entire family is ecstatic with their dog, who was willing to lay down his life to protect theirs.
“The only reason he went after the mountain lion was to make sure I was OK,” Mary explained. “We weren’t going to allow the cat just take him since he fought for us and is our family.”
