To Protect His Territory A Fearless Little Terrapin Chased Away Big Lions

Sharing is caring, but it does not imply that you must share if you do not care. When two lions showed up in his domain, this small terrapin probably felt the same thing, and he had his own way of telling them that they were not welcome at all.

A safari guide named Reggi Barreto captured the amusing occurrence along the Sand River in the Mala Mala Private Game Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa. Two lions, one male and one female, approached a waterhole to drink water when they were both interrupted by a little turtle who plainly thought of himself as the king of the wallow in the video.

He seemed to be really pissed off when these intruders appeared from the middle of nowhere and ruined his peaceful life. Because of his somewhat aggressive attitude, the big lions were forced to walk away.

Just take a peek at the amusing moment:

That amazing scenario “pleasantly astonished” both Reggi and his guests, according to him. They came come to watch the lions, but what they saw was not what they had anticipated. It exceeded all expectations.

Despite the fact that the 30-year-old man has been working there for a long time, he said it was his first time seeing such a sight. The guide also stated that these lions were not at anyway tame or friendly. Prior to arriving at the location, he and the visitors had heard that they were hunting a juvenile zebra.

“Watching the terrapin approach the lions with blood on their chins from the zebra was an extraordinarily unusual sighting for me to record,” he added. “It appears that the terrapin was more interested in obtaining some of the blood than in ‘driving the lions away.’

Nonetheless, the arrival of the amusing turtle was something they would never forget. And Reggi was delighted he was there to witness the momentous occasion.

He went on to say, “It’s all about studying animal behavior and forecasting what they’ll do next.” “Searching for animals and spending time with them to see how the sighting will turn out takes a lot of patience!”
