After several months of chilly weather, summer has finally arrived. Of course, we have a variety of ways for staying cool throughout the summer months. Swimming is one of the most effective ways to combat the heat. If you can find a pool nearby where you can swim away the heat, that’s ideal. Animals are no different.
Almost every day, a juvenile deer broke into Brittney Benincasa’s backyard for a relaxing soak in their pool. Everything was OK until Benincasa returned home to discover the deer soaking wet near her pool. Brittney dialed 911 and kept an eye on the deer, but she was taken aback by what occurred next.
“What I thought would be a fall into the pool turned out to be a step down into it,” Brittney said to NJ.com. “Then she just started pacing back and forth near the jets, because she was plainly enjoying the massage.” She then just stepped down and began swimming laps around the pool, as if she belonged there. She walked around like she owned the area.”
The deer was escorted out of the yard by an animal control officer, but she returned several days later, slipping through a crack in the fence and swimming in the pool.
Thankfully, the chemicals used to cure it are based on salt rather than chlorine. The family currently doesn’t mind the unexpected visitor swimming in their pool since they believe the deer will soon be too large to fit under the gate. As a result, the family gets a fun story to share, and the deer has a nice place to relax.
