Kristin Wolf and her dog Fenway have lived together for many years and seldom sleep apart.
Wolf feels safest when Fenway is close, and the Lab/pit bull mix likes to snuggle with his mom. However, she wasn’t sure if sharing a bed with her dog would be beneficial to her sleep.
Wolf told The Dodo, “I constantly woke up sleeping sideways or even at the foot of my bed.”
But Wolf didn’t want to blame poor Fenway for an interrupted night’s sleep if that wasn’t the case.
So she decided to find out for herself.
Wolf bought a security camera and set it up in her bedroom. Of course, Fenway had no idea his nightly movements were being tracked in a time-lapse video.
Wolf was astonished to discover Fenway was quite peaceful during the night when she checked the footage the next morning. In reality, Wolf was the one who kept Fenway up at night when all he wanted to do was snuggle.
“What I discovered is that I believe it is actually me who moves a lot,” Wolf explained. “I had no idea he stayed that near all night.”
Hundreds of dog parents and moms couldn’t help but connect after Wolf shared the video on Facebook.
Wolf commented on Facebook, “I’m so thankful my dog lets me sleep in the corner of his bed.” “It was a pleasant evening, and he let me to sleep in.”
Fenway has blastomycosis, which is a life-threatening fungal infection. He’s currently in remission after years of struggling. However, his condition does affect the way he sleeps, as Wolf saw in the video.
“He was much more affectionate when he was sick,” Wolf remarked. “As a small spoon, he was usually beneath my arms, but now he prefers the bend of my knees.”

Fenway does have some bad habits when it comes to sharing, Wolf noted: “He’s a blanket thief and couch hog, too.”
But despite everything, Wolf wouldn’t change him or their nightly routine for the world.
“I’ve dumped a guy for saying he didn’t like that I let him sleep in my bed,” Wolf said.
