Nothing is more ideal for a dog like Mondu than pumpkins. The little pumpkin his mother gave the Lab/rottweiler mix puppy, age 3, likes it to the moon and back. Mondu and his pumpkin are practically inseparable. He also wouldn’t risk eating it.

Mondu’s universe is slightly more complete as long as they are together, though.

“He definitely has the Lab love of having things in his mouth and carrying things around, ” Nicolette James, Mondu’s mom, told The Dodo. “He also has a soft mouth, so he tends to be gentle with things. I gave him a pumpkin as a puppy and wanted to see if he would still like it.”

Luckily, Mondu didn’t only like it — he loved it. The grateful pup has made the pumpkin his very best friend, taking it everywhere he goes. The two even lay together in the grass.

James commented, “It’s becoming a touch disgusting and it has some teeth marks in it now. He enjoys lugging it around and throwing it. He’ll assault it after throwing it elsewhere. He simply accepts it and lies with it as well.

The infatuated puppy with pumpkins is loving with more than just fruits and veggies. James claimed that he treats everyone the same way.

He is quite loving and loves to always have some part of himself touching you, but overall he is very laid back, according to James. He is also quite perceptive to emotions; if you start sobbing, he will immediately come over to check what’s wrong.

Mondu is undoubtedly a dependable sidekick. He would be set if only pumpkins were in season all year round.
