John Damian Androcles Aspinall is a name that many of you may be familiar with. He is a multibillionaire Englishman who adores animals, particularly gorillas. Mr. Aspinall, the world’s most well-known environmentalist, is the founder of The Aspinall Foundation.
The organization is crucial in ensuring the survival of the gorilla species. Their mission is to assist return captive gorillas into their native habitats by relocating them from a Howletts Wild Animal Park in England to their enormous reserve in Africa, according to Little Things.
So Mr. Aspinall has seen hundreds of gorillas released into the wild. However, one of them will always be in his heart. The businessman raised a zoo-bred lowland gorilla, named Kwibi when he was five.
Then, in 2005 Kwibi was released into the forests of Gabon (West Africa) where he belongs.
The years passed, and Kwibi and Aspinall hadn’t seen one other in nearly five years. As a result, the man decided to pay a visit to an old acquaintance. Kwibi would be ten years old and considerably stronger by now. As a result, Aspinall was concerned about how he would respond if he saw him again.
They find Kwibi after hours of searching in the woods. When you watch the gorilla’s response, you won’t believe your eyes. Here’s a video of their poignant reunion:
