This is Simba, a friendly pit bull with a nice disposition. Unfortunately, some others view him as frightening only because of his breed.
But the cute dog recently disproved them.
Simba lives in an apartment with his owner, Arjanit M.. There, despite the dog’s friendly advances, many folks in the building would go out of their way to avoid him.
One neighbor in particular, an older woman who lives a floor below, was especially cold to Simba.
“He always tried to greet her, but she called him mean and looked at him with fear,” Arjanit told The Dodo. “She never liked him because he was a ‘bad’ breed.”
Simba, however, never soured to her — which he soon proved in the sweetest way.
The other day, on their way up the stairs from their stroll, Arjanit and Simba went by the neighbor’s flat. The dog then started acting weirdly at that same moment.
He came to a halt, Arjanit remarked. “He started to bark and ran to the neighbor’s door. He resisted my leash pulls, though.
Arjanit moved to pick up Simba since he wouldn’t move. He then heard a faint sound emanating from within:
Arjanit remembered, “I heard a frail voice scream for aid.” “She pleaded with me not to leave,”
Arjanit opened the door since it was unlocked to discover his neighbor lying on the ground.
The door was unlocked, so Arjanit opened it — finding his neighbor collapsed on the floor.
“She had broken her hip and been in her home for a while,” Arjanit said.
For two long days, she’d gone unnoticed. She was unable to move, and her life was in danger.
Simba had sensed her just in time.
He and Simba waited with the neighbor while Arjanit phoned for an ambulance. The dog, who she had previously never warmed to, had saved her life.
Of course, everything changed suddenly.
I initially believed she was speaking to me when she added, “Thank you for hearing me,” Arjanit remembered. The cute doggy, not you, she said afterwards.
It turns out the “mean” dog was actually more kind than most.
The neighbor is still in recovery, but that hasn’t stopped Simba from getting recognized as a hero.
Others in the building have begun showering him with treats and gifts.
While Simba certainly deserves them all, Arjanit hopes his dog’s actions that day will lead to a shift in attitudes about more than his pup alone.
I’m aware that Simba is a fantastic dog, Arjanit stated. “However, I’m hoping that this incident will change how people see bully breeds. As people, we must be deserving of their affection and commitment.
Simba demonstrates that there is enough to go around.
