Dog Decides To Just Sleep In His Toys Because He Loves Them So Much

When Nugget was a young puppy, he was struck by a car and suffered serious injuries. His family abandoned him in a shelter at the time because they felt they could no longer care for him.

Fortunately, his wounds weren’t too severe, and he was given a charming little cast to wear while he recovered. He was adopted by the San Diego Humane Society and placed in a foster home, where he first met his future family.

Lynda Dean and her boyfriend met Nugget through a friend who happened to be fostering him. Despite his hurt leg and the fact that he was deaf potentially from the car accident, they immediately fell in love with him, and as soon as the cast was off and he was given a clean bill of health, they officially adopted him into their family.

Nugget quickly made himself at home in his new house and fell in love with his new folks. Nugget’s parents decided to enroll him up for a toy subscription service as soon as they adopted him so that he would always have a ton of toys to play with. This is how Nugget’s strong fixation with toys got started.

Dean said, “He goes crazy and can’t wait to dig in and see what he received every month when the package arrives and he sees it. He has a lot of toys, which we sometimes consider to be too much because he constantly moves them about the home. But he really does adore them.

Nugget is very, very attached to his toys, and he has so many that when it’s time for a bed or a quick nap, the only way to ensure that he can sleep with all his toys, is just to sleep IN them.

As much as he likes playing with them, Nugget also enjoys napping on top of all of his cuddly, plush toys. He never ever takes any of his toys for granted and they appear to provide him so much pleasure and delight.

Dean observed that even when he isn’t sleeping in his toys, the boy always makes sure to bring a few to bed with him. He obviously values toys because, in my estimation, he didn’t grow up with them.

Nugget undoubtedly had a difficult beginning to life, but today he is content and spoilt, has a ton of toys, and will never go without anything again.

“For everything he’s been through he is extremely smart, loving and attentive,” Dean said. “We definitely hit the jackpot when we found him.”
