For The First Time A Blind Rescue Dog Has Eye Surgery And Sees His Owners

This is the heartwarming moment when a blind dog meets the humans who rescued her for the first time. Olive, a lovely Cocker Spaniel, was almost completely blind when she was adopted by a kind couple. She is now able to visit the individuals who assisted her during her most difficult days, following a very extensive procedure. The scene was captured on tape, and it’s very heartwarming!

Extremely friendly, Olive was rescued from the streets of Palma de Mallorca, Spain, after she was – most likely – abandoned by her previous owners. But even though she eventually found a shelter over her head, things weren’t looking too good for the Cocker. She was suffering from a cataract in both eyes and that made her lose her eyesight.

Fortunately, Olive was welcomed by a Canadian couple who fell in love with her right away. Despite her inability to see, Holly Emmerson and her husband Bart chose to adopt her and do everything they could to help her regain her vision. They gathered enough money for the operation with the help of family, friends, and animal lovers, and when the time came, they were just as eager to witness Olive’s reaction as she was to see them again.

Olive’s return from the clinic following a successful and much-needed eye surgery was captured by Holly. Olive’s reaction when she finally sees her adoptive parents is breathtaking!

“Seeing her so attentive and staring us in the eyes was such an awesome experience to behold,” Holly added. “We were both sobbing the second she walked around the bend; it was such an emotional time for us all.” She was clearly overwhelmed by the prospect of seeing the world for the first time; when we returned home, she just looked out the window for a long time, taking in all the new sights.”

Olive’s story is so inspiring. It proves us that we still have a lot to learn from these incredible creatures! “Olive is an amazing example that no obstacle should get in your way of enjoying life,” her mom said. “We hope her story can inspire people to view life the same way.”
