Alexandre Lima recently found himself in a dilemma that threatened to jeopardize his livelihood. Despite setting his phone’s alarm clock to get him up in time for work in the morning, Lima continued to oversleep.
Lima told The Dodo, “At first, I assumed I was silencing the alarm while I was sleeping.”
However, it turned out to be someone else completely.
Lima discovered the cause of the problem that was giving him so much stress after roughly a week of oversleeping owing to the alarm not waking him up. Dory, his dog, was the culprit.
He awoke one morning just long enough to capture the furry criminal in the act.
“When I awoke, Dory was licking the phone,” Lima added. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”
Lima’s alarm had been silenced by the pup all by herself:
Lima and his wife were both taken aback. They recorded Dory’s surprising new ability to explain the recent delays on camera.
“I told my employer, and he thought it was extremely humorous,” Lima said after showing him the video. “Aside from the shame of having to explain me, I’m grateful I didn’t have greater troubles.”
Dory was to blame. Lima, on the other hand, does not hold it against her.
Lima believes Dory’s motivations were far cuter than simply switching off the clock to get some additional sleep.
“She linked the alarm to our departure from the residence,” Lima explained.
