This is the incredible moment a diver has comes face to face with a huge bull shark off the Jupiter coast, Florida. The man even managed to captured a series of photos of the intimidating creature, and shared them online.
The enormous shark was discovered by free-diving photographer and marine life enthusiast John Moore. Despite the diver’s 55 years and several shark encounters, this was by far the largest shark he had ever seen. Along with other bull sharks, the pregnant shark was hunting prey near the surface.
“She was an abnormally large female,” the photographer said. “Very likely pregnant, she certainly hadn’t skipped any meals. She was a very dominant shark, confidently coming right up to me throughout our dive.”
Moore has later shared the incredible snaps on Instagram, where he constantly post photos of the sharks he encounters while diving!
He described an up-close and personal look at a huge female Bull shark’s stunning serrated teeth. “A fish had snatched a portion of the bait, moved toward me in search of shelter, then dropped the chunk out of fear. This prepared me for a photo that even my 20mm lens couldn’t handle.
The bull sharks aren’t the nicest sharks to encounter, so even though Moore has a lot of experience with them, this wasn’t the most pleasant experience for him. In actuality, this species is among the most deadly sharks, along with great white and tiger sharks. These enormous beings can reach heights of up to 11 feet and weigh as much as 1,500 pounds with easily.
