Since he was a puppy, Gilligan has been at the Bedford County Humane Society in Pennsylvania. He had many problems to overcome due to his unfortunate tough start in life, so the shelter decided to hire him as the office greeter, which he enjoys.
According to Joyce Ross, a worker at the Bedford County Humane Society, “He is an excellent office greeter.” He lets us know whenever someone enters the house and waits patiently for them to bring him snacks or perhaps a new toy. He has unquestionably advanced.
Recently, someone at the shelter was closing up for the night and put Gilligan in his kennel but didn’t latch it correctly. Once everyone had gone home for the night, he was able to wiggle the door open and set himself free. There he was, all alone in the shelter and free to do whatever he wanted — so he went ahead and threw himself a party.
“He spent a long time checking to see if anyone was in the building,” Ross said. “Once he realized he was alone, he went straight for the toys. One by one, he pulled them out of the pile that we had just received from all of our Christmas donations, and he brought them in the hallway to play with them and to pull the squeakers out.”
Gilligan really let loose and dragged his new toys every which way. His mess spanned several hallways and rooms. It truly was a party for the ages.
They didn’t need to try to identify the culprit when everyone arrived at the shelter the following day. Gilligan was standing there, doing a small happy dance, very proud of himself and prepared to take control of the situation.
He seemed delighted to meet a familiar face and showed no guilt, according to Ross.
Ross noted that aside from the dog toys, which had no possibility of being destroyed, “everyone at the shelter thought it was humorous that of course he wouldn’t harm anything in the facility.” “First, we searched through all of the toys for any survivors that might be used once more. Because that was what he was wanting, he spared the majority of the ones without a squeaker. The cleanup was quite simple once we found some of the items that might be used again.
No one could really be angry with Gilligan despite the fact that he hosted a party without permission. He’s had a difficult life and only wanted to pursue his aspirations; judging by the mess, he made the most of it.
