This is the touching moment when a little koala climbs to the comfort of a teddy bear. The poor little baby had tragically lost her mother, but thankfully for her, a bunch of volunteers discovered her just in time to save her life.

Life in the outdoors is incredibly difficult for an orphan animal. Unfortunately, a newborn koala called Lucy found herself in such a precarious circumstance. The despairing creature’s survival chances were exceedingly poor after losing her mother in a vehicle accident, and only a miracle could have changed the odds in her favor. Which, ultimately, arrived!

A group of kind people found Lucy on the roadside of a driveway in Queensland, Australia. At the time she was completely dehydrated due to the extreme heat. So they rushed her to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. But once they got there, the life of the tiny koala was about to change, forever!

Lucy has only been at the hospital for one hour, but she has already stolen everyone’s heart. Not only because she was adorable, but also because of how she responded when a member of the staff chose to give her a teddy bear. The small teddy bear provided the newborn koala with the comfort she required right away. She climbed up to it and is refusing to let it go!

“Meet Lucy, the gorgeous koala joey that is melting hearts at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital,” the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors wrote on Facebook.

Due to dehydration, Lucy was suffering from a case of pinkeye, but besides that everything was fine, so she’ll soon make a full recovery. You can watch this sweet creature, below:
