A mother bear is scarcely making an effort to bring her four young cubs across a road in this endearing scene. Two of the babies, who didn’t seem to be particularly helpful, interfere with her task. The spectacle caused a traffic gridlock because it took place for over 20 minutes. However, every motorist waited patiently until the unfortunate mom bear eventually made it.
As one of the drivers, Robin Covelli from Torrington, Connecticut, saw everything that happened. The lovely scene was even caught on tape, and the video quickly went viral, receiving millions of views in less than a day.
“I was very lucky to witness this today,” Covelli wrote on Facebook. “This poor mama bear tried for 15-20 minutes to get her 4 (yes 4) cubs across the street. As you can see they were not very cooperative, but oh, so adorable! I’m sure many of you moms out there can so relate!”
The loving mother bear took one of her adorable pups by the mouth to entice the others to follow her as she moved from one roadside to another with her offspring. A second cub is closely after mom, but the other two appear to be very obstinate.
The fourth cub climbs a tree, but in the other direction, when the third one finally musters the confidence to cross the road. Naturally, the mother returns to cross it as well, but to the amusement of the drivers, a cub she had previously passed over does so as well. The mother bear eventually succeeds in gathering all of her cubs in one location. It’s not easy being a mom!
