To Let His Deaf And Blind Friend Know He’s There, Dog Always Boops His Nose

Tamale was adopted at the age of four months from the Speak for the Unspoken dog rescue. He’s been blind and deaf since birth, yet it doesn’t seem to bother him nearly as much as others think.

Tamale’s mother, Kayleigh Otstot, told The Dodo, “He will frequently run into objects, but other than that, I regard him as a fully normal dog.” “When people meet him, they often comment they would never guess!”

Tamale has always been a social butterfly. His kindness let him meet his closest buddy in the world, Jimmy, who he loves people, infants, and other dogs.

“Jimmy and Tamale met at the dog park over a year ago,” Otstot said. “Originally Jimmy’s mom, Melinda, and I would plan to meet at the dog park. Then we started taking the two out on walks together and it went from there. They see each other at least once a week, if not more.”

Tamale and Jimmy have had a fantastic, one-of-a-kind friendship since they first met. Jimmy appears to be able to understand that Tamale is a little unusual and may want additional assistance from time to time, which is why they’ve come up with the cutest routine.

@tamalethedm i love these two 🥺 #bestfriend #bestfriends #deaf #blind #doublemerle #aussie #goldenretriever #fyp ♬ hell never love you like i can – Evie 😉

Tamale waits in the car whenever the two get together to hang out, and Jimmy rushes over and boops Tamale on the nose. Tamale will be aware that Jimmy has come and that it is time to begin the adventure.

“Tamale always jumps out of the car, and the two immediately start to play,” Otstot said.

Every time the pair meet up, without fail, Jimmy boops Tamale’s nose. He knows that Tamale can’t see or hear him, so he’s found an easy way to get his attention. It shows much Jimmy truly cares about his best friend, Tamale — and neither of them would have it any other way.
