Thanks to a video showing her budding friendship with a beautiful little baby bunny, a deer named Nellie is tugging at heartstrings all over the internet. Nellie was acquired at an extremely young age and struggled to fit in with the other fawns her age.
As a result, her parents bought in a rabbit named “Polly.” Polly is the lovely and cuddly rabbit in this video. Nellie and Polly will go on to have one of the most endearing odd-couple friendships we’ve ever witnessed.
Polly was just 5 weeks old when Nellie started licking her so aggressively, to the extent that her owner thought she was hurting her. But she wasn’t hurting her at all; instead, Nellie showed her care and affection for Polly.
Nellie performed the mother role in Polly’s life by offering her so much love, attention, and care, despite Polly being so small and just a few weeks old. Polly’s owner has done all she can to encourage Nellie to eat grains, but she always refuses. However, as soon as Polly begins to eat grains, Nellie follows in since she notices Polly doing it.
As the movie progresses, we witness Nellie become increasingly playful with Polly, as seen by her constant hopping. “Nellie leaped more than she ran,” her owner stated. We all knew how much Nellie enjoyed being near Polly, so she most likely learned how to leap from her best friend.
The video has gained a lot of traction on YouTube thanks to this odd couple pairing. One viewer summed it up best when he commented, “These two are sweet and lovely together, but I hope Polly has a rabbit friend, and she doesn’t have to be alone when Nellie leaves.”
