When a bear rescued from a bile farm realizes he’s finally free, he has the loveliest reaction. The big animal, who has been kept in tiny cages for nearly a decade, can’t believe his eyes as he sees himself swimming for the first time. His out-of-control delight was captured on film, and it’s nothing short of touching!
But none of this would have been possible if it hadn’t been for the kind people at Animals Asia, a Hong Kong-based charity dedicated to helping animals in need. So many wild animals have been spared as a result of their efforts. Tuffy, a lunar bear, experienced something similar. The sweet bear was confined and used for medicinal purposes at a bile farm for much too long.
Nonetheless, neither his poor vision, nor his jaw multiple woulds didn’t stop Tuffy to fully enjoy his moment of freedom. Taken to a lovely sanctuary in Vietnam, the rescued bear is about to experience swimming for the very first time in his life. But not before undergoing surgery and fully recovery.
“After years of little or no water, this must feel like a true oasis for Tuffy after being parched and in pain for so long,” Animals Asia’s Louise Ellis wrote on the organization’s website.
Keep an eye on the emotional scene. When Tuffy enters a pool for the first time, he jumps for joy like a baby!
