The puppy, a weeks-old pit bull, was abandoned outside a shelter in Michoacan, Mexico, by his 12-year-old brother. The personnel at the Refugio Xollin were shocked to see a box with a puppy inside and a plush animal next to him when they arrived at the shelter in the morning.
They carried the cute dog inside without knowing who could have placed him there. However, they soon discovered the explanation behind the tragedy.
Andrés, a little child, owns the adorable little pit bull. However, he made the difficult decision to abandon his beloved furry buddy, as he expressed in a sorrowful letter. Andrés’ father turned out to be quite hostile, so he chose to leave his dog at the shelter to protect him from his father’s terrible behavior.
In this way, Andrés hoped that the innocent soul will eventually find a loving family to adopt him and care for him, just as he deserves. The boy’s powerful words left everyone in tears, at the shelter. More, they decided to share the inspiring story on Facebook.
Refugio Xollin stated on Facebook, “Someone left this puppy at the shelter’s entrance, inside a box, with a plush toy and a letter.” “The message was written by a child, who indicated that his father was constantly abusing the dog and planned to sell him. As a result, he left the dog here to rescue him in his grief.”
André’s selflessness was recognized, and after reading his sorrowful letter, the shelter did everything they could to locate Rene – the puppy’s name – a permanent home and a loving family.
