The kid of Denise Lewallen wasn’t really alarmed when she first saw an imperial moth hanging out and going about her business. When she finally observed the moth’s wings, she hurried to take a picture.
When she showed her mother the picture, Lewallen immediately enquired about sharing it on Facebook so that everyone else might witness the marvel her daughter had captured.
Imperial moths are known to be yellow with red, brown and purple splotches all over their wings. These splotches can often create varying patterns, and for this particular moth, her pattern was special — because it contained both a face and the name “Anna.”
As soon as Lewallen shared the photo on Facebook, everyone had so much fun sharing their reactions to the incredibly unique-looking moth. Imperial moths are all pretty cool-looking, for sure, but this one was absolutely next level.
Lewallen told The Dodo that “a lot of folks were freaked out.” Others said it brought them spiritual calm like a loved one calling with that name, as a butterfly is frequently used as a symbol.

How some people perceived the identical face or image differently from others, and how occasionally someone initially had trouble seeing the image when it was displayed before realizing how blind they had been. It has been nice to observe others share and receive only good responses.
It’s not every day that a moth with a name written on her wings flies by, and it’s incredibly lucky that Lewallen’s daughter was able to capture a picture and share it for everyone to marvel at.
