Recently, an extremely elusive black leopard was found in India’s Tadoba National Park. Anurag Gawande, a 24-year-old wildlife photographer, was the one who stumbled upon the magnificent scene.

Earlier this year, while on a safari, Anurag saw the melanistic leopard trying to cross a road in pursuit of a deer.

The unusual wild cat was discovered by the fortunate photographer from a distance of less than 30 feet. Naturally, the 24-year-old had trouble believing what he was witnessing when he saw such a magnificent creature. It was unexpected since we expected to see a tiger, but instead we spotted a black leopard ambling along the sidewalk, the man stated.

Anurag said, however, that this was just the second occasion in less than a year that he had seen the unusual species. “I was viewing it for the second time,” he said. “While viewing it, I had the same excitement, but this time I was conscious of the occasion. We kept our car off and backed away far enough for it to remain still.

Recalling the once-in-a-lifetime scene, Anurag explained: “We were tracking a tiger but on the way on Tadoba lake we heard a deer call and at the next moment we saw Black leopard.

It was sitting on the pathway…then it spotted the deer and tried to hunt it, but failed.” Anurag also said “this is the only black leopard of Tadoba park.”
