Woman Accidentally Made The Squirrel Get A Little Tipsy After Giving Him To Old Fermented Pears

Katy Morlok has been putting out food for a fat squirrel that resides in her yard for the past year or two. Lil Red was the moniker given to him by her children.

Typically, Lil Red eats seeds and dry maize for food. The other day, though, dinnertime was noticeably boozier.

Morlok made the decision to purge her refrigerator last week. She then came across a bag of pears that had been left unattended for too long. Morlok placed one outside for her pet pig since she didn’t want them to go to waste, but he showed little interest.

But it was someone else. Little Red rushed over.

The Dodo was informed by Morlok that the man was “very delighted and worked and worked until he could get a good enough grasp on the pear to carry the whole thing up the tree.” I thus left the remaining old pears out for the squirrels.

“I had accidentally gotten the squirrel drunk!” Morlok said.

Though Lil Red could still run and climb, albeit a little unsteadily, Morlok was worried that he’d be vulnerable to predators if he continued getting inebriated. So, she picked up the rest of the old pears and threw them away.

“I was so delighted to see Lil Red back at the feeder the next morning for his ‘hangover breakfast,’” Morlok said. “He has been back to the feeder many times now and is perfectly fine.”

A squirrel’s interest in alcohol is not new; they are known to eat fermented fruit that they find in the wild. Morlok won’t be giving Lil Red any more alcohol, though.

But in retrospect, Lil Red’s wild day seems strangely similar.

“I believe it’s as 2020 as it gets,” you say. said Morlok. Even the squirrels require a vacation from the present situation.
