It’d be a shame if anything were to happen to all these tasty nuts.
That was the unspoken threat one food vendor in England received from a clever (if pushy) local squirrel.
Have A Banana Trading Co.’s nut display case has been the target of many egregious squirrel-based crimes in recent weeks. However, it appears—and possibly not by chance—that one fluffy-tailed mafioso intervened at this very moment to offer his “protection.”
However, using the squirrel’s services would cost money.
As he is presently known, Burton, he would anticipate getting his cut.
So, rather than put the business at risk from being pillaged even more by that gang of hungry squirrels, the food stand decided to accept little Burton’s offer.
They made a dedicated cubby full of nuts just for him.
The nuts are all packed up in the other cubbies, but they are loose and accessible in Burton’s. That has reportedly been sufficient to prevent him from wandering into food that is meant for sale.

Both Burton and the nut stand are pleased. As Have A Banana Trading Co. stated online, it is a tiny price to pay to lose a few nuts in order to maintain harmony.
