Sara Fitzwater’s husband was on his way to one of the coal mines where he works earlier this year when he noticed an apparently alone dog nearby. He wasn’t sure where she’d come from at first, but it became clear after seeing her there again on subsequent trips.
Fitzwater told The Dodo, “Someone had dropped her off in the vicinity.” “Every time [my husband] went to this mine, she’d rush up to him and smile.”
His heart had been conquered by the dog. And he’d found a particular place in her heart.
Fitzwater’s husband decided to take the adorable puppy home with him after an unfortunate visit to the mine to keep her safe and adored as his family’s new pet. Sadie Kate was her name.
The abandoned puppy’s eagerness to be rescued had come to an end. But there’s still something Sadie Kate looks forward to each and every day since then.
That’s her hero returning home.

“Because I work from home, I started observing her simply waiting for him down the street and thought it was adorable,” Fitzwater explained. “I never imagined she’d keep doing it every day.”
It’s the sweetest homecoming for Sadie Kate.
The dog, who had previously been alone in the world, had met her partner.
And he’s worth the wait every time.

It’s no surprise to Fitzwater that Sadie Kate is captivated with her husband. He appears to be the kind of man whose kind, loving nature is simple to adore.
“I tell her all the time that when she smiled at him, she struck the jackpot,” Fitzwater said.
