While on a training ride in Brazil with a buddy earlier this month, professional cyclist Thyago Costa Silva saw something on the side of the road.
Silva observed five little pups struggling in a deep pit.
He told The Dodo, “They were in an extremely distant spot, far away.” “Someone dug the grave and abandoned them.” They were frail and unable to flee.”
Silva and his partner realized they needed to help.
After lifting each puppy gently from the hole, Silva and his friend offered them water from their bottles.
“They were dying of thirst and hunger,” Silva said. “They just wanted to survive.”
Thanks to the cyclists, the puppies now had hope.
With no other means of carrying the puppies to safety, Silva and his friend placed the puppies in their shirts — and rode them the 12-mile journey home.
“It was very emotional,” Silva said.
Silva returned and proceeded to assist the puppies in regaining their strength.
Silva added, “I brought them home and took care of them.”
But he went above and above.
Silva shared a word about the five puppies he discovered, and before long each, one got what they needed most.
“They were all adopted by good people who love animals,” Silva said. “Thank God.”
What started off as a heartbreaking sight on a desolate bike track turned out to be the nicest ending possible. The puppies’ fates have never looked better since they were rescued from the brink of death.
Silva stated, “They will have a better life.” “I’m confident they’ll be well looked after.” This brings me much joy.”
