Meet Luna and Caipirinha, two adorable canines that have formed an unshakable bond.
And it’s obvious.
Julieta Firpo, the dogs’ owner, was taken aback when Luna walked into the home dripping wet.
Luna, a 14-year-old senior dog with failing eyesight, isn’t quite as daring as she previously was, so it seemed strange that she’d go for a solo swim in the pool.
However, it turned out that she hadn’t.
Firpo noticed that Luna had fallen into the pool by mistake and was in serious danger of drowning because she was unable to maneuver her way out on her own. That is until Caipirinha entered the picture.
“We couldn’t believe it when we saw the footage,” Firpo told The Dodo.
When Caipirinha saw Luna was in danger, he went out of his way to aid her, guiding the befuddled senior dog to the shallow end of the pool and then tugging her to safety by her collar.
Caipirinha had come to the rescue.
Now realizing the danger, Firpo plans to block off the pool so such an accident doesn’t happen again.
But thanks to Caipirinha’s quick thinking and clear devotion to her friend’s well-being, Luna escaped that scary incident unharmed.
The dogs’ family is really thankful.
“Caipirinha was already the house’s sweetheart,” Firpo said. “She’s our hero now.”
