A UPS Driver Pulls Over To Tell A Woman Something Unexpectedly Kind About Her Dog

If you stroll past Chloe Bonnell’s house in Tallahassee, Florida, you’ll almost certainly encounter a smiling face. Atlas, a black and white dog, stays at the window all day, waiting for his mother to return.

And the dog’s loyalty has not gone unnoticed.

After a friend gave her a Facebook post about an abandoned litter of puppies, Bonnell adopted Atlas in March. She wasn’t sure whether she was ready for a dog, but Atlas wouldn’t allow her go anywhere without him.

Bonnell said, “He came right up to me and wouldn’t leave me alone.” “I believe God told me to buy the puppy because he foresaw what was about to happen.” He’s my little savior, and he’s been at my side throughout the epidemic and virtual teaching.”

When Bonnell returned to in-person teaching, she worried that Atlas would suffer from separation anxiety — especially since Atlas is a high-energy dog.

“He is completely rambunctious and loves to play. He will run and run and run all day long if you let him,” Bonnell said. “He’s super sweet, super energetic, loves people, loves kids and just wants to be with you.”

When Atlas was left alone in the house, she was surprised to see that he didn’t chew or destroy anything. Instead, he waited for hours at the window in his favorite spot, waiting for his mother to return.

“He enjoys nothing more than sitting in the sunshine and watching the world go by,” Bonnell added.

Bonnell came home from work last week to find a parcel at her door after a long day. She suspected something was awry when the UPS delivery man drove up the street and stopped in front of her house.

“‘Excuse me, ma’am, may I speak with you for a moment?’ he said. “I dropped my belongings and walked back out to him, expecting some unexpected awful news,” Bonnell posted on Facebook. ‘That is the most devoted dog I have ever seen,’ he continued.

Is he just sitting there staring out the window while you’re gone? He’s always sitting there when I drive past. He doesn’t even bark at me when I come up to drop off a box. The majority of dogs do. When I knock, he just stares at me. He’s probably just waiting for you to return home, so I’m not bothering him. Anyway, I enjoy driving past since I see him every time.

Bonnell was moved by the sweet moment, and the fact that Atlas had managed to touch the life of a complete stranger.

“When you’re having a bad day, you just need a pick-me-up,” Bonnell said. “And that was the most perfect thing I could’ve asked for.”

Bonnell made it a point to shower extra love and care on Atlas that night. Allow him to run about to his heart’s content, as usual.

Atlas is aware that he is a good boy, and it is evident that the rest of the neighborhood is as well.
