After Being Rescued A Mother Horse Returns To The California Wildfires To Save Her Foal

That is something we say about human moms, but you might be shocked to hear that it also applies to animal mothers.

Take, for example, the story of a California horse. When a wildfire engulfed her property, she made certain that everyone in her family was safe. When we hear of natural calamities, we usually think of people fleeing. We rarely think what these occurrences must be like for animals, even when the human cost is severe.

Approximately 26,000 individuals were forced to abandon their homes during the “Easy Fire” that raged through California. However, when the fire spread to ranches and farmlands, animal evacuations became required.

Wildfires raged on the outskirts of Los Angeles, destroying everything in their path. The only thing most of us can do in these out-of-control fires is get out safely and let the firefighters try to put it out.

During these flames, animals have the instinct to flee. When a property in Simi Valley caught fire, the horses realized they needed to escape out and flee as far as they could.

The horses were fleeing away from the flames when a rescue squad arrived.

When the rescuers arrived, they attempted to lead the herd to the road. The easiest solution to ensure that everyone could get out and go in the direction they wanted to go would be to build a road.

So, as the majority of the horses followed the route to safety, one of the mares broke free and raced back toward the burning property.

When the rescuers discovered she was rushing back to collect her kid, they were astounded. Her youngster, a black colt, was roaming around behind the ranch’s fence, attempting to get out. When the mother horse discovered her youngster was missing, she dashed back to the barrier.

Along with her colt, there was another horse, a bay horse, that needed to be escorted to safety.

The black mom horse aided them in getting to safety and saved their lives. Many people were motivated by a video of the rescue that was shared on social media.

“Animals are often underestimated,” one observer said. They share the same emotions, for example. We just have a significant linguistic barrier. “Bless those children…”

That day, this heroic mama’s efforts helped save some lives.

The day, all but one of the horses from that stable escaped the fire and were safely relocated. It’s uncertain if the two horses would have survived if not for the acts of that mother mare assisting her kid and another horse find their way out of flames.

It only goes to show how powerful, regardless of species, a mother’s love is.
