She volunteered at the Los Angeles Zoo and the Morris Animal Foundation for nearly 40 years. Betty adores all animals, from the tiniest kitten or puppy to the largest bear.
The 99-year-old lady recently stole the hearts of everyone with a lovely moment she shared with a member of the Los Angeles Zoo, a brown bear named Bam Bam. Betty claims she was a little scared at first, despite the fact that the scenario was the purest expression of love a person and a large beast can experience.
“It was the scariest thing I’ve ever done,” she said, “It was really funny stuff, but it was a challenge.
On the other hand, I’m actually the luckiest old broad alive. Half my life is working in a profession I love and the other half is working with animals.”
Betty is described as a delightful lady with the warmest heart by everyone who knows her. Tom Sullivan, one of her many friends, reportedly said of her, “I believe Betty White can enchant the wild beast.” Betty treats people with decency, respect, and charm, but she has a far stronger bond with animals than she does with people.”
