Dog From The Shelter Dresses Up To Meet His New Family But They Never Arrive

Hendrix believed he had finally found his forever family after spending almost a year at the Kentucky Humane Society.

The Staffordshire terrier mix was eager to meet potential adopters on Tuesday, so he suited up and came to Sam Swope Pet Treatment & Lifesaving Center. The family had previously filled out an application and interacted with the personnel of the shelter before the meet-and-greet. But after that, they disappeared.

Eventually, Hendrix realized that it wasn’t going to be his day.

“We wait over 30 minutes for them, and we never received a call or heard from them,” Megan Decker, media manager at the Kentucky Humane Society, told The Dodo. “Hendrix was all dressed up in his harness and was smiling ear to ear waiting for them to arrive, only for them to never come. It broke our hearts.”

Hendrix was transferred from a rural shelter that was overloaded last April to the humane organization. With his humorous and energetic demeanor, the 4-year-old canine soon captured the hearts of everyone he encountered.

He regularly snorts, which makes him nearly more piglike than doglike, according to Decker. He just snorts and snorts since his nose is so short. He continues to make us all chuckle! Additionally, he snores loudly, which makes for amusing listening.

The social pup loves to play outside and then lounge around, lapping up any attention he can get.

“Hendrix loves people so much and is very cuddly and sweet,” Decker said. “He has met kids as young as 5, and he just flops over for a belly rub and snorts in delight.”

Hendrix wants nothing more than someone to love him and give him a fulfilling life, in addition to wanting a house free of cats. It was painful to see his expectations dashed because the shelter staff knows the ideal family is out there for him.
