Finally A Human Sized Dog Bed

Ever felt a tiny bit jealous when you saw your dog contentedly snoozing in his bed? Friends, put those jealous sentiments to rest since soon you’ll be able to sleep in your very own canine-sized bed.

The dog bed for people, Plufl, was developed by two university students from Vancouver, Yuki Kinoshita and Noah Silverman. The successful Kickstarter effort, which is now accepting pre-orders, is buzzing on social media and has raised close to $300,000 so far. This can only suggest that folks need to take a sleep badly.

Silverman and Kinoshita, who are both exhausted college students, like to take brief naps whenever they can, and were motivated to develop the Plufl after observing their friend’s Great Dane dog, Lady, napping on a specially built bed for dogs.

In the video on their Kickstarter page, the enterprising duo ask, “Why should dogs have all the fun?” And they’re right!

While napping is an essential part of your pet’s day, napping can be good for humans, too. Researchers say a 20-minute nap offers benefits that include boosting alertness and productivity.

“Plufl was created to maximize comfort and foster a sense of security, delivering relief for those who have ADHD, stress and anxiety-related issues,” Silverman and Kinoshita said in the video.

So how close is the Plufl to an actual dog bed? Well, let’s just say your pet will definitely want to join you when it arrives.

A multilayered orthopedic memory foam mattress for support, a pillow bolster composed of a natural cotton and poly fiber blend, and a “soft, sumptuous fake fur” cover are all included in the Plufl, which was designed to offer the “ideal napping experience.” Oh, and you can machine wash the case (for when your pet does want to come over for a snuggle).

The first batch of Plufls will be a one-size-fits-all model made from high-quality, ethically sourced materials, suiting up to two nappers who are up to 6 feet 5 inches tall. Future versions will provide numerous sizes to accommodate everyone comfortably, regardless of size.

All this comfort comes with a hefty price tag. For $399 (20 percent off the eventual retail value), you can pre-order a Plufl on their Kickstarter page.
