Sure, pigs can’t fly (with a few exceptions), but this adorable pig is here to make the process a little easier for those of us who will be flying to the skies.
LiLou, a trained therapy pig, was hired at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) this week, where her charms will be put to good use.
She’s joined the Wag Brigade, the facility’s welcoming troupe of comfort animals who will be on standby to provide smiles to numerous tired Christmas travelers.
Petting LiLou is not only encouraged, but it is something she demands.
“The feedback has been fantastic and quite supportive,” a representative for the SFO told The Dodo.
LiLou is the first airport therapy pig in the United States, but she’ll feel right at home among her primarily canine coworkers.

“The SFO Wag Brigade has become a beloved amenity among visitors since its introduction in 2013,” airport administrator Christopher Birch stated in a statement. “With LiLou’s addition, we can anticipate additional moments of surprise and delight for our passengers at our airport.”

When LiLou isn’t at SFO, she spends her days as part of the San Francisco SPCA’s Animal Assisted Therapy program, making visits to people all around the city.
Those who don’t reside in the neighborhood and don’t plan on flying via SFO can still enjoy LiLou’s stubby-nosed magnificence by following her on Instagram.
