The Rescuer Is Obsessed With The Orphaned Squirrel

Allen Pursley, on the other hand, was the last person in the planet who wanted a newborn squirrel. Especially not in the house.

Before his eyes had even opened, the little squirrel had fallen from a tree. Pursley’s husband, who works at a veterinary clinic in north Texas, took the baby home to heal before he could be released back into the wild.

The thing is, Pursley works from home, so he spent his days alone with the newborn animal.

And that animal needed to be hand-fed his nourishing milk.

And the first thing he noticed as he opened his eyes was Pursely.

And, of course, love.

Pursley says The Dodo, “Then I started spending a lot of time with him.” “I was already transforming our closet into a space for him before the week was through.”

Rocky was the squirrel’s initial name. Pursley, on the other hand, found himself using a different name a lot.

“I’m sure he believes his name is ‘Bad Squirrel,’ since he heard me say it so many times when I was teaching him to stay off the counters and curtains,” he adds.

When you love someone, you come up with all sorts of extra names. So he wasn’t just Rocky. But also Bad Squirrel. And Squirellito .. Sweet Squirrel … Squiggidy-Boo.

Pursley, on the other hand, committed a blunder somewhere along the route. Wild squirrel was considered to be Sweet Squirrel’s ancestor. He was meant to go back to his people. Pursley, on the other hand, had delayed much too long to release him.

Pursley recounts, “At first, I had no idea what I was doing.” “All we were attempting to do was keep him alive.”

“By the time he became an adult and I considered releasing him,” he adds, “I realized I’d already done far too much wrong to be able to do so.”

This squirrel was far too domesticated to be able to thrive in the wild.

But Rocky brushed off his country counterpart and stayed true to the man who saved him.

And only Pursley.

While there are other animals in the house – a couple of dogs and a cat – Bad Squirrel tends to play a little too rough for them.

Pursley explains, “He doesn’t let anyone else handle him.” “Even my hubby can’t handle him.”

Pursley, on the other hand, “has the disposition of a cat,” as he puts it.
Rocky or Bad Squirrel or Squirrelito, two years after living in with his human, still has no desire to go. Pursley, for one, is constructing a shelter for him outside, in the hopes of giving the animal some alternatives in his new life.

Rocky, on the other hand, is the type of squirrel that makes his own choices. And, for the time being, he’s determined that his home is right here.

Right here, for example.

We don’t recommend keeping a squirrel at home. Even if some of them don’t seem to want to leave.
