Annette Gray is currently sharing her home in Australia with an unwelcome houseguest who is somewhat overbearing.

Charlotte is her name. She’s a huge spider that happened to stroll in one day and chose to remain.

Charlotte is a huntsman spider, according to Gray’s son Jake, a species that can get fairly enormous but is actually extremely friendly. Huntsman spiders do not represent a threat to humans when left alone. And that’s Jake’s mother’s attitude about Charlotte: she’s letting her be.

“Over the last year or two, we’ve watched [Charlotte] develop,” Jake told The Dodo. “[She] was never a problem to us.” She wanders throughout the home, popping up in different rooms and eating all the bugs.”

Charlotte has obviously been quite active with that activity.

Jake stated, “[She] is around 15 cm wide.” (That’s just under 6 inches.)

“I believe [Charlotte] is growing,” Annette wrote later in an online message.

The spider has made quite a commotion among the Grays’ family and friends, with some suggesting that the house be set on fire to get rid of Charlotte. Annette, on the other hand, understands what it takes to be a good host, even to spiders that have come in.

She wrote, “I don’t murder them.” “[Charlotte is] completely harmless.”
