The sweetest relationship ever developed between a rescued foal and a huge teddy bear!
His mother left him soon after he was born, thus his name, Breeze. The Mare and Foal Sanctuary in Devon, UK, was notified after a farmer discovered the little Dartmoor Hill pony. The newborn foal was in a severe state of distress when the rescue crew got on the scene. Everyone feared the worst since he was disoriented and dehydrated.
But once they brought him at the sanctuary, things started to look better as the little one apparently found the comfort he needed. And it didn’t came from an adoptive mother, or from staff members, but from a giant teddy bear his carers gave it to him.
“Sadly, little Breeze has not got his mum around to keep him company,” Syra Bowden the sanctuary’s executive director, said. “It’s been wonderful to see him interacting with his new teddies and cuddling up to them when he goes to sleep. They are great company for him and provide comfort during the brief periods when his carers are not present.”
It seems that the refuge provides plush animals for orphans rather frequently. We always provide a huge cuddly toy as a companion for our orphaned foals, according to Bowden. In the sense that it comforts them, they are similar to human newborns. A technique that appears to be pretty effective!
Breeze is doing great today after a couple of key weeks during which he was given a special milk formula and appropriate medicines. Additionally, his teddy bear pal is to blame for it. He is becoming bigger and stronger every day, according to Bowden. He recently began playing in the field; he is not afraid of anything and enjoys being outside.
