Navó loves going on adventures with his family in the Netherlands. Whether it’s hiking or swimming, the lovable pup is always game. But even the most intrepid thrillseekers get scared sometimes — especially when there’s water involved.

So, when Navó is feeling nervous, his dad supports him in the best way possible — by giving him a big hug.

Nathalie Weusten, the mother of Navó, finds it endearing that her affectionate dog insists on swim cuddles.

Weusten believes that Navó enjoys receiving hugs because it makes him feel protected, helps him ensure the safety of his family, and, well, he simply enjoys being cuddled.

“Navó loves to swim and is good at it, but [he] feels most secure when he is near one of us,” Weusten told The Dodo. “He hates it when one of us is too far away in the water, especially when swimming, as he thinks we might be in danger. We cuddle a lot, so I think it also makes him feel safe.”

Water is nothing new to Navó. Actually, Donald Hillebregt, his father, competes in triathlons. Hillebregt enjoys include Navó in training sessions whenever feasible. Navó is always excited to go along because he leaps at the chance to be with his loved ones.

The kind, inquisitive dog enjoys playing fetch and observing the vast universe when he isn’t busy swimming.

He enjoys observing everyone and everything, according to Weusten. He “gets along with everyone well” and is quite gregarious.

Navó has already shown to be the ideal pet for them. In addition, Navó is always there to provide Weusten the companionship he needs when Hillebregt is gone competing or training.

Weusten said, “We are genuinely inseparable. You might say that he is practically my fantasy come true since I adore him so much.
