Marshall enjoys flaunting his howling prowess. The 2-year-old Great Pyrenees had the ideal pupil to pass on his knowledge until his younger sister, Lily Bell, arrived.
At just 3 months old, Lily’s learning so much from her big brother. The dachshund-mix rescue clearly looks up to Marshall, and when she recently saw him howling in the backyard, she immediately followed suit.
“This was the first time we saw Marshall showing her how to howl,” Michael Lohman, the dogs’ dad, told The Dodo. “Now, whenever the fire trucks leave the station, they stop where they are and howl together.”
You can watch the sweet moment here:
Marshall is really very shy when he’s not howling to let everyone know he’s there. Marshall, according to Lohman, is Lily Bell’s “polar bear” guardian because he overcame parvo as a puppy.
Marshall naps, guards the yard, and enjoys lengthy embraces, according to Lohman. “You could be crushed when Marshall is ready to play.”
Lily Bell loves to cuddle and is constantly seeking for opportunities to play with her older brother. According to Lohman, “[Lily] likes to grab onto the other’s fur and get pulled about.” Her nasty habit of chewing Marshall’s fur is another.
The baby dog is still adored by her sibling, though, and the relationship between the two is developing daily, notably via howling.
