A few lucky visitors to the Memphis Zoo in Tennessee were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime encounter that they will likely never forget. They witnessed a female giraffe give birth to her first child, and it was all captured on video!
The giraffe was only due a few days later, so no one from the zoo staff actually expected the moment to come as early as it did. But fortunately, someone who was lucky enough to witness the event when it happened managed to record it as it all unfolded.
In the intense film, you can the mom looking for the ideal location to give birth to her child. And once the baby is born, mom’s strong instincts kick in, and she assumes her position as a caregiver, providing the type of love and care that only a mother can deliver. Fortunately, the baby was totally healthy, and the zookeepers did not need to intervene.
The new mom and her infant were able to spend quality time together bonding and enjoying one other’s company.
